About Us
Shore-Murphy & Associates of Casey was formed on January 1, 2004 with the acquisition of Athey & Associates and the Insurance Service Store of Casey. Heather Shaffner and Shore-Murphy & Associates LLC formed their partnership in March 2004. In June 2005, SMAC acquired The Nolan Worms Agency and the affiliation with the Cincinnati Insurance Companies. Brian James, joined Heather as active partners in the agency. Brian retired December 31, 2019. Dan Gabel joined the agency as a partner January 1, 2020.
Heather Shaffner became a partner March 2004. Her father Dwight Shore was one of the original partners, now retired from insurance. She grew up around the insurance business her entire life. Heather can help you with home, auto, farm, bonds, business & life insurance. She is also the acting manager of the agency since 2004.
In April 2021, she received her CIC, Certified Insurance Counselors Designation from The Society of Certified Insurance Counselors. This achievement signifies a commitment to continuing education, required of all those who have earned the CIC designation.
Dan Gabel became a partner in January 2020. He brings 13 years of insurance experience to our agency. He received his designation in Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist in 2019. Dan can assist you with home, auto, bonds, business, farm, crop & life insurance. He comes from a strong commercial insurance background.
Julie Hackney became the agency CSR in June 2005 when the agency purchased Nolan Worms Insurance. Julie had worked for Nolan & Doris 11 years & has been in the insurance business since 1981. Julie is our personal lines underwriter and agent for our agency.
Madison Shaffner joined our agency in 2018. She is a third generation insurance agent. She is a licensed property & casualty agent. She is our acting Customer Service Representative & property/casualty agent.
Spencer Shaffner began working for our agency May 2019, as an intern. He was hired by the agency in January 2020, as a CSR. June 2020 he became a licensed property/casualty agent. He is currently working as a Customer Service Representative & a property/casualty agent. Spencer is a third generation insurance agent.
Today, the agency represents numerous appointed and brokerage companies for Property and Casualty insurance for individuals and businesses. Markets have been developed further in disability, long term care and especially life insurance.
